E-Cat - Too Good To Be True?

Energy Catalyzer or the E-Cat for short is a mysterious and possibly fictional technology invented by Andrea Rossi that could solve the world's energy problems. It is almost comical in its simplicity: Hydrogen gas and micro-scale nickel powder are fused in a high-pressure chamber by a secret catalyst, creating stable copper isotopes and high amounts of thermal energy. The materials used are plentiful and cheap, and the cost of maintenance is virtually zero. No radioactive materials are used, and no radiation is produced.
